In the midst of our very busy lives, we often forget that we're but one speck of life on one sphere in a very big universe. When we saw the first pictures released by NASA from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), our jaws fell open and we about cried big fat monkey tears.
It was so beautiful. And it reminded us of how amazingly cool things are far, far away from Earth. These beautifully engineered 6” levitating and rotating planetoids command attention. Each is suspended in mid-air by an electronically controlled magnetic field. Unlike other floating globes, a built-in computer chip continuously adjusts to atmospheric changes to guarantee the sphere remains suspended.
Once it is levitating you can start the rotation with a simple little spin. The electronic system will register the rotation and keep it rotating until you stop it. The Mars and Moon models are composed of thousands of NASA and ESA photographs and map out the important landmarks on each. |
